Water Rockets and Water Rocket Launchers

Water Rockets Arrived in the Mail Today

I got my water rockets in the mail today and they look awesome! I took a couple of pictures of the water rocket in its package before opening it.  Keep in mind that they are the new type made in china not the good old ones that you could get twenty years ago or so.

First Impressions of the New Water Rockets

My first impression so far of these water rockets is that they look cheap, but will be more than adequate for the job. Since you will need to fill the aqua capsule with water the makers of the aqua rocket have provided a funnel to go along with the water rocket kit. Also included is the air pump and instructions for launching the water rockets.

Water Rocket Instructions

Step one: Turn the water rocket upside down and insert the funnel into the water rocket nozzle located behind the fins. Then using a measuring cup, fill with one ounce of cold water. Make sure that you do not overfill the fuselage. The instructions also say not to use hot water or any other substance for the liquid rocket. I presume the hot water would burn or scald you as you launched it.

Step two: Remove the water rocket loading funnel and insert the air pump into the exhaust nozzle. Slide the locking sleeve completely over the tail nozzle of the rocket and make sure it is securely locked in place.

Step three: Always point the water rockets up and away from you and any bystanders watching your launch.  Hold the water rocket pump firmly with one of your hands and carefully pump the handle fifteen to twenty times. They say to prevent damage to you or the water rockets do not pump the handle more than twenty times.

Step four: Making sure the water rockets are aimed up and away hold the pump strongly with one hand and pull back the locking sleeve with the other hand. This will release the water rocket and it will blast off into the sky with a trail of water exhaust.
