Looking For The Good OLD Water Rockets From When I Was A Kid
Monday, March 31st, 2008OK so I have looked at all the major toy stores in my city for the cool NASA look-alike water rockets that I used to have when I was a kid. Problem is I can’t seem to find them. The folks at Toy R Us don’t have a clue either. So this morning after my 5 kilometer run I went to the local Hobby shop called BC Shaver Shop. Why it’s called a shaver shop when it sells mainly cool toys, models and RC kits is beyond me. The only thing I can think of is that the owner has to hedge his bets and sell another product in case toys ever go out of style.
Well when I went to their model rocket section I could see the missiles and rockets that use pyrotechnics (model rocket engines) to propel themselves into the skies, but no water rockets. Funny I could have sworn I saw just the kind I was looking for when I was in the last time for a totally unrelated shopping trip. So I asked the clerk behind the counter and he told me that they get the NASA style water rockets in from time to time, but they sell out fast. After he confirmed they were all gone he said he would order some more in for me. So we shall see what happens. I really hope I don’t have to wait for too long. I know these models are not the cool high performance ones, with two liter pop bottle type fuselages that go 300 plus feet in the air, but they are damn cool!
Once I get my hands on one of these cool Aqua Missiles I will be sure to post the pictures and information on where to buy them, as I am sure all the water rocket enthusiasts will want to add these to their collection.
